LIEBHERR HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCE MANUFACTURER
MORE THAN 200 AMFEN IN USE AT A LIEBHERR HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCE MANUFACTURER
The Swiss company Liebherr is one of the leading manufacturers of construction machinery and household appliances. With production sites worldwide and a wide range of products including cranes, construction machinery, refrigerators and freezers, and nearly 50,000 employees throughout the Group, it is essential to ensure the safety of everyone involved. With a highly automated logistics center and state-of-the-art technical equipment including over 200 control cabinets, Liebherr-Logistics GmbH supplies its customers all over the world with spare parts. With the automatic miniature fire extinguishing unit R-AMFE and the associated control system for simultaneous release multialert®, Liebherr is implementing a high-quality system for early fire detection, extinguishing and reporting to reduce the risk of fire. This prevents interruptions to operations by electrical fires and guarantees the company’s constant ability to deliver.

In the event of a fire, the AMFE triggers at an earlier stage, either thermally or via smoke detectors, and automatically reports the fire to the higher-level fire alarm system. This prevents fires from spreading in the first place and protects employees from the dangers of fire at all times. Thanks to AMFE and multialert®, production and shipping stoppages as well as plant downtimes are prevented. Loss of goods due to the consequences of fire can be virtually ruled out. In this way, we help to guarantee the uninterrupted supply of spare parts by Liebherr-Logistics GmbH worldwide.

The Berlin-based start-up Rechargy uses an innovative business model that involves renting out power banks and setting up “Power Banks To Go” stations. The Rechargy stations are located in public areas and are therefore subject to strict fire safety and security requirements. Thanks to AMFE, the charging and power electronics areas are reliably protected.
Small extinguishing system protects EWM technology centre
EWM GmbH, a leading welding technology supplier, maintains high quality standards backed by advanced testing and safety systems. To prevent operational failures, the company focused on protecting electrical components. In late 2023, intelligent mini fire extinguishers were installed in nine electrical systems in cooperation with Wichmann to suppress incipient fires directly at their source.
