AMFE PROTECTS PRODUCTION OF OeTTINGER BEER BREWERY GERMANY
The Original OeTTINGER brand is considered one of the largest beer brands in Germany. The OeTTINGER Brauerei GmbH is one of the top 25 breweries in the world and has been honored for its high performance and first-class product quality since 1980 and received more than 300 national and international awards. Especially in the food industry, high safety standards apply, also regarding fire protection. VdS Schadenverhütung has developed a special protection concept especially for breweries. The OeTTINGER brewery in Brunswick has now equipped its machines with the mini fire extinguishing unit AMFE to reduce the risk of fire and business interruptions. The extinguishing agent FK-5-1-12 contained in the AMFEs has a seven times higher extinguishing capacity than CO₂, extinguishes without leaving residues and is harmless to humans, making it ideal for use in the food industry. AMFEs can reduce the risk of operational or production downtime as a result of a fire.
This means that employees are protected from the dangers of fire at all times. “In order to reduce the risk of business interruption, critical machines and electrical cabinets got selected,” explained Alexander Schneider, Sales Manager Meister Automation. The selected machines got equipped with the right sized AMFE cylinders to protect these cabinets in the event of a fire. This way, integrated fire protection helps the OeTTINGER brewery to increase reliability of business continuity.

EWM GmbH, a leading welding technology supplier, maintains high quality standards backed by advanced testing and safety systems. To prevent operational failures, the company focused on protecting electrical components. In late 2023, intelligent mini fire extinguishers were installed in nine electrical systems in cooperation with Wichmann to suppress incipient fires directly at their source.
The Berlin-based start-up Rechargy uses an innovative business model that involves renting out power banks and setting up “Power Banks To Go” stations. The Rechargy stations are located in public areas and are therefore subject to strict fire safety and security requirements. Thanks to AMFE, the charging and power electronics areas are reliably protected.
