HAMBURG AIRPORT RELIES ON DEVICES WITH INTEGRATED FIRE PROTECTION
LED WALL EQUIPPED WITH E-BULB OFFERS NEW INFOTAINMENT EXPERIENCE AT THE AIRPORT
Hamburg Airport is the fifth largest airport in Germany and the oldest in the Federal Republic. In 2022, more than 91,000 aircrafts took off, carrying around 11.1 million passengers and about 54,000 tons of cargo. In addition, around 15,000 people work across the whole airport. High safety requirements are placed on an airport, and fire protection in particular is subject to strict conditions and regulations. All the technology installed at the airport must be highly reliable in terms of safety. Directly behind the security checkpoint in the Airport Plaza, there is now an LED wall that meets all safety requirements thanks to its integrated fire protection.

For their client Hamburg Airport, Ben Hur GmbH initiated installation of the E-Bulb into devices from Sharp/NEC. The LED modules are fireproof from the outside due to the aluminum housing. Nevertheless, the E-Bulb serves as an additional protection against fire and damage. The E-Bulb triggers at a defined temperature and extinguishes fires. Thanks to the residue-free extinguishing liquid, the electronics are spared. This saves resources, as well as time and costs for repair.

Berlin-based start-up relies on AMFE for protection
The Berlin-based start-up Rechargy uses an innovative business model that involves renting out power banks and setting up “Power Banks To Go” stations. The Rechargy stations are located in public areas and are therefore subject to strict fire safety and security requirements. Thanks to AMFE, the charging and power electronics areas are reliably protected.
